Hot Foil Blocking also known as Hot Foil Stamping, is the application of a metallic foil , often gold or silver, but can also be a pigment foil, to a substrate where a heated die is stamped into the foil and through a combination of weight and pressure allows the foil to adhere to the substrate giving an additional element to the finished article.
Offering a metallic/pigment finish over fine or larger areas, Foil Blocking can create something special as there are a vast array of finishes to choose from, metallic’s can be gloss, satin or matt and pigments normally matt or gloss.
